Six kids injured in golf cart crash Sunday

HARRISON COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Six kids were injured in a golf cart crash on a private property just a quarter mile northeast of Bethany, Missouri, Sunday night.

The Yamaha golf cart, driven by a 14-year-old girl, had five other occupants: another 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy, 12-year-old girl, 11-year-old girl and nine-year-old girl.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m., as the golf cart was traveling north on the property and attempted to go down a steep hill. The cart began overturning and came to rest facing south/southeast on its top near a large brush pile, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report.

The 14-year-old driver was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital by North MO EMS with moderate injuries. The other 14-year-old, was taken via private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital with moderate injuries.

The 13-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken by life flight helicopter to Children's Mercy Hospital. The nine-year-old also suffered serious injuries and was taken via private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital, then taken via air to Children's Mercy.

The 11 and 12-year-old suffered moderate injuries and were taken by private vehicle to Harrison County Community Hospital.
