Westboro man receives drug-related federal charges

WESTBORO, Mo. (KQTV) -- A Westboro man is facing federal drug-related and gun charges following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in mid-January.

Frank Kephart faces charges of: Possession with intent to distribute, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking and felon in possession of a firearm.

On Jan. 14, Atchison County Deputies, with the assistance of the Northwest Missouri Drug Strike Force, executed a search warrant in Westboro for Kephart's charges of distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting/interfering with a felony arrest.

Kephart's bond was issued for $15,000.

The Atchison County Sheriff's Office requested further investigation by federal agencies, which resulted in a federal indictment and warrant being issued by the United States District Court.

The United States Marshals Service and U.S. Marshals Service Task Force Officers, along with the Buchanan County Career Criminal Unit and Nodaway County Sheriff's Office Deputies, took Kephart into custody on Tuesday related to the federal charges.
