Carroll County Sheriff, MSHP investigates second homicide

CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Two people are dead, and a person of interest is in custody in a second Carroll County homicide within a week.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, the Carroll County Sheriff requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) to investigate the incident that occurred at a home in the 1100 block of Route D in Carroll County.

The sheriff's office received a call at approximately 5:47 p.m., according to a news release. Law enforcement arrived on scene around 6:24 p.m. and confirmed that two adult victims were dead inside the home.

Authorities said one person of interest is in custody, and there is no known danger to the community.

MSHP said DDCC investigators are currently gathering facts and following up on investigative leads.

No additional information about the case is being released at this time.

This is the second double homicide in a week in Carroll County.

Ryan A. Munson, the suspect involved in a double homicide incident in the county on Sunday, was found dead in Decatur, Illinois, on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
