Garr heads back to Division II Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (KQTV) — A St. Joseph, Mo. native is heading back to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

MoWest thrower Makenzie Garr will compete in the Division II Indoor women's shot put competition on Saturday, March 14.

Garr is the seven seed with a mark of 15.71 meters.

This is Garr's third consecutive season competing at the Indoor Track and Field Championships. Garr has also qualified for the Division II Outdoor Championships in each of the past two seasons.

Garr put up four first-place finishes during the 2026 indoor season and three runner-up finishes. She finished second at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships back on Feb. 27- March 1.
