Nicole Thompson steps down as MoWest softball coach

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - MoWest's Nicole Thompson has stepped down as head softball coach.

Thompson will become the next head coach the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The job also opens the door for Thompson's husband, JT to return to the coaching ranks as well. He will join Cumberlands as the assistant softball coach.

In two seasons guiding the Griffons, Thompson amassed a 64-39 overall record and a 23-25 mark in The MIAA.

The search for Griffon Softball's next head coach will begin immediately.
