MoWest volleyball suffers first defeat of the season in 5-set loss to Rockhurst

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The 11th ranked MoWest women's volleyball team lost its first game of the season Friday night. The Griffons suffered a 3-2 defeat in 5 sets to Rockhurst in the Fairfield Inn Griffon Volleyball Classic Tournament (23-25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-17, 12-15).

It's the first defeat of the season for the Griffons as the team drops to 7-1 on the season.

The team will host another tournament at the MWSU Fieldhouse, the Holiday Inn Express Griffon Volleyball Invitational beginning on Friday, September 11th against Arkansas Tech at 10:30 am. MoWest will then take on Illinois-Springfield later in the day at 6 pm.
