Mound City, Rock Port girls hoops advance to Class 1 District 16 Championship

(STANBERRY, MO) - The semifinals were Wednesday night for the Class 1 District 16 High School Girls Basketball tournament.

In the first game, 1 seed Rock Port defeated 5 seed Platte Valley, 69-44.

Senior Ella Meyerkorth led Rock Port with 25 points, followed by sophomore Audrie Meyerkorth with 22 points. Senior Mya Wray led Platte Valley with 15 points.

Rock Port improves to 25-2 on the season, Platte Valley finishes the season with a 12-16 record.

In the second game of the night, 2 seed Mound City beat 3 seed Stanberry, 42-35.

Sophomore Peyton Farr led Mound City with 20 points, followed by junior Maggie Osburn with 19 points. Sophomore Kynzee Adcock led Stanberry with 9 points.

Mound City improves to 23-5 on the season and Stanberry finishes the season with a 23-5 record.

Mound City will face Rock Port in the Class 1 District 16 Championship on Friday, February 27th at 6 pm at Stanberry High School.
