ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- As work continues on the Gene Field Road Bridge, drivers can expect continued impacts to daily commutes along Interstate 29.

From 6 a.m to 10 a.m., southbound I-29 at the Gene Field Road Bridge will be narrowed to one lane on Wednesday, March 11.

A 10.6-foot width restriction will be in place.

Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will be moving equipment during the time period.

The work is part of a project to widen the Gene Field Road Bridge and replace its driving surface, as well as add pedestrian sidewalks to the north and south sides of the bridge.

The project is scheduled to be completed by July 2026.
